Meet Shelly
Hi, I'm Shelly.
I've always loved travel—the anticipation, the adventure, the people you meet, and the memories you bring home. But over the last few years, I've come to see it through a very different lens.
I was diagnosed with cancer, and while I was going through treatment, I unexpectedly lost my husband at just 49 years old.
When life changes that dramatically, it changes the way you think about someday.
For me, it didn't create a desire to live fearfully. Quite the opposite. It made me want to be more intentional about how I'm spending the life I have—where I go, who I spend my time with, what I experience, and how I can make a difference.
Travel, service, community, and experiences like my time in Kenya have helped shape what I want this next chapter of my life to look like.
And somewhere along the way, I realized I didn't want to simply rebuild the travel business I'd had before.
I wanted to build something that reflected the way I wanted to live from here.
That's what VBS means to me now.
